Medium - Copper, Stainless Steel

A response to the detritus of tubes and pipes left exposed on a redevelopment site.

Nature’s Breeze

h320 x w450 x d450 cm

Medium - Stainless steel

‘Nature’s Breeze’ (background) is one of three commissioned memorial sculptures to celebrate the life of Richard Lancelyn Green and to be a permanent presence in the grounds of the Lancelyn Green Estate. The concept was inspired by the force of nature’s breeze gently bending the fronds of the palm, cordyline and yucca plants, persuading them to change direction, dancing to the rhythm of the air’s warm current, nature’s breath.

Vision

h270 x w150 x d450 cm

Medium - stainless steel, glass

‘Vision’ (foreground) reflecting his great passion for Sherlock Holmes, was influenced by a magnifying glass, customarily a specific circle whose handle, normally rigid, functional and symmetrical has adopted a new, free, fluid form, once again reacting to nature’s gentle breeze.

State of Ambiguity I

h190 x w60 x d245 cm

A copper screen embellished with repetitive organic forms was developed from the investigation of gates, railings, window grills and screens all used within our society as a means of defence, to protect.  These fortress type structures are camouflaged by imagery drawn from nature, many magnificent in construction and ornately decorated.

State of Ambiguity III

h36 x w22 x d48

A copper triptych inspired by natural forms, focusing on complex repetitive structures.

State of Ambiguity VI

h30 x w20 x d244 cm

Medium - wood, lead, copper, industrial felt

A hybrid sculpture derived from cumulative parentage that combines organic complexity with an idealised engineered functionality.
